Last fall, I photographed a story about how to transform your yard to be a haven for birds. The US bird population has dropped significantly since the 1970's―the main reason for the decline is due to loss of habitat from overdevelopment. But that's where each of us can make a difference. We can transform our yards into bird habitats by adding native plants and trees.
Photographing this story inspired me to continue expanding the garden at my home―replacing the lawn a little more each year. Now that it's spring again, I'm off to the native plant sales with my list of plants and ready to get dirty. How about you?
