At Sea
In the fall of 2017 while a series of hurricanes bashed the Caribbean islands, I was on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The journey began in Norway heading southwest along Europe, past Africa and across the equator to Brazil. When the mighty Amazon River met us 100 miles out at sea, the journey neared its end.
Being out in the middle, I was awed by the stillness. At times the Atlantic mirrored that of a lake on a calm day. Only once, as we crossed the North Sea, we had noticeable swells. No wind, no rain, no evidence of the turbulence west of us.

Continuing with my interest in water as a subject, I'm exploring the beauty, mystery and fragility of our Oceans. This ongoing study will fuse multiple chapters of work together as I make my way around the world chasing the vastness I've been drawn to my entire life.
Limited Edition prints from this body of work are available in two sizes.
